June 1st- Mets take 3 of 4 from LA, Beating the dodgers 6-1

Looks like a good day for optimistic fans, huh? Today's game showcased the return of Ryan Church from his concussion and Post Concussion Syndrome. On the other hand, SuperTatis (TM) was benched in favor of Endy? A smart move?

Survey says......Yes!

-Johan Santana started the game off rocky giving up a quick run, but Kemp was picked off trying to steal on first motion, and that was it for the dodger offense. Johan went 7 and 2/3 innings of strong ball, lowering his ERA to 2.30.
-The first two times through the order, Jose Reyes got on base, got to second (once via SB, once via a double) and was driven home by David Wright. Sounds like 06 a bit. Reyes ended up 2/5 with 2 Runs scored, while Wright went 3/4 with a run and the 2 RBIs that were Reyes.
-The third inning, which started with the second Reyes-Wright combination, was where it all came together for the mets. After Wright's RBI single, Beltran crushed a ball for the second straight night. A clearly shaken Kuroda then walked Delgado easily, and then Ryan Church announced his return with the second Home run of the inning to make it 6-1 mets. This was all the mets would need.
-Church's return was indeed impressive, 3/4 with a single, double and a home run, and another hard hit ball that was caught near the warning track in the second inning. The double probaly should've been caught by the center fielder, but this clearly made every met fan smile.
-The Bullpen came in the 8th to finish it off. Joe smith nailed Jeff kent loading the bases, but Scott "I am Actually worth a three year contract" Schoeneweis got James Loney to ground into a 6-4 Ground out.

All in all, a great game, and 3/4 from the dodgers after 2/3 from the marlins shows that we're right back on track.

The mets are only 3 and a half out guys, this season is far from over and we look good.
